Jo: "I am very pleased with my membership in the Silver Spirit Club. I especially enjoy the travel. As a widow, I don't like to travel on my own. With the Silver Spirit Club, I get to go to places and do things that I might never have done - we always go to great places and do interesting things. 

My favorite trip was to the Charleston/Savannah historic districts. On this trip, we got to go on a dinner cruise and a carriage ride. 

The people at Merchants Bank do everything to make sure we have a good time. The trips are always well planned and the accommodations are wonderful. If it's a long trip, she might have a movie for us; we always have games, puzzles and snacks so the bus ride is fun too. 

I usually bring a friend, but I also really enjoy the other people. Everyone is prompt, it's a fun group, and I feel safe on the trips. 

I enjoy banking with Merchants - I actually taught some of the people who work there. They are very gracious people and I couldn't be happier.

I actually came to be a customer at Merchants Bank because of the Silver Spirit Club. We're lucky to have Merchants Bank."

Ray & Jeanne Lathem "The Silver Spirit Club is like a close knit family."  Silver Spirit Club Members: Ray & Jeanne Lathem. Ray, Cumberland Presbyterian Minister. Jeanne, Recently Retired From The Admissions Department At Wallace State Community College.

Jeanne: "We just enjoy the Silver Spirit Club so much! We've been involved in it since it began. We've met many new friends and the fellowship is great. The Silver Spirit Club is made up of seniors of all ages - some retired and some still working.

Our favorite trip was to Abingdon, Virginia where we stayed in the Martha Washington Inn. While we were there, we had so much fun and, as always, we ate at the best places in town. Last year we went to "Riverdance" at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center in Nashville. Every time we go to a show, we have wonderful seats. 

In the Silver Spirit Club we really feel like members of a family."

Ray: "The Merchants Bank employees don't leave anything out. My favorite trip was also to Virginia but I've enjoyed everywhere we've been. Our accommodations are always first class and we're fed real well. The prices are reasonable and there are never any hidden charges or fees.

The Silver Spirit Club is like a close knit family. We enjoy seeing old friends and meeting new people from the community. The banking services are excellent too."

Janie: "The Silver Spirit Club is a wonderful group of people. We like everyone there; they are a genuine group of people. 

We have crazy fun - good clean fun on the trips. The accommodations are pleasant and there's a good choice of places to go. The buses are always good and the bus drivers are very safe - they are very nice men. The Merchants Bank employees that go with us are great. They are always bubbly and enthusiastic. We have gotten to know people who go to different churches - people we've heard of but never met and might never have met if it wasn't for the trips. 

Merchants Bank is my favorite bank; it's very convenient. Steve Glasscock, the President is wonderful. I also think Merchants Bank is the prettiest bank in Cullman."

Herman: "The travel is what we like best about the Silver Spirit Club. It's a quality mode of travel and they do an excellent job providing information along the way to make the trip interesting. Everyone really makes you feel welcome, even when you first meet them. The food and accommodations are always excellent.

Merchants Bank is made up of quality people. You can usually ask for the person you need to talk to by name and they are there at the bank. 

We went to the investment seminar and found it very interesting. The speaker had really good information.
The Silver Spirit Club works for people who are retired or not retired, there's something for everyone."

Otto & Mildred Evers "When we decided to change banks, we visited every one in the area. Merchants won by a mile." Silver Spirit Club Members: Otto & Millie Evers Otto, Retired School Teacher. Millie, Retired Bank CFO.

Millie: "I retired from the position of Chief Financial Officer of a very large bank. When we decided to make a change, we visited every bank in the area. Merchants Bank won by a mile. The people at Merchants are very friendly and they have good rates on CDs-especially with the Silver Spirit Club. 

We love the Silver Spirit Club, especially the travel. The trips are well planned and club members get to have input on future trips

I have the highest praise for Merchants Bank. The bank I came from wasn't active in their seniors program. In fact, I have renewed old friendships with some of my former customers who are now at Merchants Bank!

Otto: Although we banked at Merchants, we didn't really know anyone in the Silver Spirit Club when we started. However, we've now met many new people that we enjoy. 

We've been on several trips and they've all been great. The bus drivers are safe and they always have lots of snacks. We like it so much, we've told other people about it. 

Everyone at Merchants Bank is friendly. They go the extra mile for their customers. When you call, even the receptionist makes you feel welcome."
